Low power consumption displays -- MIP LCD

MIP (Memory In Panel) is a liquid crystal display manufactured by Sharp that is suitable for energy-saving products. In addition to low power consumption, it features high reflectivity, fast response speed, and can be equipped with backlight.

l  The low power consumption principle of MIP LCD

ü   Using a transflective design reduces backlight power consumption.

MIP uses a highly-reflective transflective design, which allows a clear visibility under ambient light, even without backlighting, and the effect is even better under sunlight.

ü   Built-in memory avoids unnecessary data transfer:

Even for a static image, a typical LCD still needs to transmit more than 50 frames of image information per second. MIP integrates the display data within the LCD panel, reducing the power consumption of data transfer between the MCU and LCM.

ü   A special liquid crystal is used to reduce the inversion drive frequency:

Ordinary LCDs need to perform voltage polarity reversal 50 times per second to prevent image sticking and flickering problems. MIP uses a special liquid crystal and array structure to lower the frequency to once per second, reducing the current loss caused by voltage polarity reversal.

l   Key features of MIP besides low power consumption:

ü   Fast response rate: Same response rate as general TFT LCDs (30ms), achieving animation-level response speed.

ü   Wide temperature range: Operating temperature from -20 to 70.

l   URT's Services:

ü   Backlight: Backlight design and assembly based on customer-specified brightness and color requirements.

ü   Cover Lens: Cover lens fabrication and installation based on customer-specified shape and material, using either glass or plastic.

ü   Other Components: URT offers complete system assembly services, including chassis and motherboard assembly.
